On Wednesday, August 25, 2021, the Educational Association of University Centers and the US Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration, will be hosting a webinar highlighting best practices in rural development and entrepreneurship. This month we have author Ilana Preuss sharing her new book.
In Recast Your City: How to Save Your Downtown with Small-Scale Manufacturing, community development expert Ilana Preuss explains how local leaders can revitalize their downtowns or neighborhood main streets by bringing in and supporting small-scale manufacturing. Small-scale manufacturing businesses help create thriving places, with local business ownership opportunities and well-paying jobs that other business types can’t fulfill.
Our second presenter will be Gerson Santos-Leon . Gerson Santos-Leon is the regional and state partnerships manager for the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) program. Gerson is recognized for his leadership in helping take emerging MEP programs to the next performance level. He’s eager to partner with the EDA University Center program.
